"The Winner Takes It All" Dear readers, Thanksgiving is upon us and it's football season. As you already know, i'm bringing it all to this story. This is something I have to get off my mind. I'm learning that this influencer industry can be very difficult. In the past 2 weeks, 2 brands have denied my work and wouldn't let me include it within my journey. I decided to go against that and release the hard work I put into them. It is the first time that any brand had denied work I have turned in. It simply wasn't good enough for them. You know, that kind of hurt. I put in beyond 100% when it comes to my work. But i'm a professional, I understand their silly reasoning. I re turned in one post, and they still didn't like it. So i'm learning who is worthy enough to work with again, if the option comes around. I wasn't thrilled that this happened and went on a rant to literally everyone i'm close to. I guess the influencer industry, like the music industry, has it's fair share of strict rules. I'm so used to giving the work I put out, all that I got. To think that brands don't see that, why even approach me in the first place? You tell me i'm a perfect fit to promote your brand, then you kick me out like a piece of shit. It's something to be lead on and then let go. My fellow influencers can agree, I think. We follow all the rules and they just turn us away once we turn in all our hard work. I'm very OCD with the work that I put out into the world. I try to make everything fit into one narrative and make everything fit in naturally. It's a little bump in the road when you get slapped on the face from a brand that you thought you were on the same page with. I've never made any complaints about the influencer industry. This is not even a complaint. This is just a statement of sorts. Brands shouldn't look at us as pawns, they should look at us as equals. We take our time and create content for THEM and then they deny that from us. It's a messed up game. Like I said, it is just like the music industry. I didn't let this bring me down. I got back up and started shooting other work and moved forward. They may not like my work, but I do. I'm so proud of all the work that I do and I will share what I am proud of, not what they want to be associated with. I stand my ground and I will continue to be true with my story and what I believe in. The moral of this entry is, people can try and make it seem like they are the winner of the story. In the end, WE will be the winner and we will take it ALL.
