What I'm Wearing: Denim Jacket: DNM Collection, T-Shirt: Apt 9, Pants: Forever 21, Shoes: Converse, Socks: Happy Socks "The Middle" Dear readers, Today we come to a conclusion of the first chapter of this second book, a book of letters, stories, and memorable pieces that described who I am, and who I was in the moment. We also say farewell to spring and the lessons I learned as the flowers bloomed. Life has a way of working and things can really get poetic. And by poetic I mean, Happy Socks. This letter marks the conclusion of my 5 outfit collaboration with this very leveled "happy" company. Through 5 pairs of socks and 5 different outfits, I was able to look at life differently and beyond the happiness of happy socks. As you all know by now I can get dark when I need to, the story can get dark. But this letter is a celebration of the past 9 outfits and the 5 outfit collaboration I did with this truly special brand. It's also June and this month we celebrate pride month and happiness filled with color. We are in the middle of a story being told through my outfits and my words, and if there is one thing I carry with me through everything I do, no matter what happens and how dark the story may get, I constantly preach, every little thing is gonna be alright. When i received all these pairs of socks from Happy Socks, I asked myself what stories do I want to tell with them. I can tell something current or jump to another time period in my life. I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to talk about with this pair. So, I told myself to meet my readers and my thoughts in the middle. There is 3 colors on this pair of socks, Blue, Pink, and Grey. The blue is the beginning of the story, the pink is the end of the story, and the grey is everything in between, the middle. I don't know about you, but I feel the middle is the juiciest part of the story. I put together this outfit as a nod to my former self, my stage persona, and the young boy who actually dressed like this majority of the time at the beginning of his career. With my denim jacket I feel like it's just little thought bubbles of mine brought to life to add some flavor to this look. "This Is Everything" is what one of my patches on the jacket says. Sometimes when you reach the middle of the story you just want to write yourself off because your disappointed with where your life is going, because what you may be doing with it means everything to you . You feel as if you hate that grey period and want to get straight to the pink happy ending. But you need that contrast of the colors in order to fully understand and live your best life. The grey area is a period in your life where you feel left out and looked down on. But it's up to you to bring that wide eyed wonder and hope you had in your blue era so you can rise above it all and get that pink happy ending. Obviously for me my grey area was when I got diagnosed with Glaucoma and kicked to the street with my career. The blue area is represented through my 2nd record "Let The Music Be Your Guide", which I feel is kind of a prequel to these letters and outfits on mrdombaza. Today marks 4 years since I released the title track as the lead single. LTMBYG is a song about love, accepting love, learning to love, being loved, giving love, and learning to love yourself. Blue is a color of depth and innocence. LTMBYG is a song about the flaws that this horrible but beautiful world had in 2012 and still has in 2017. I wanted so badly to spread my message in that song to the world, but by the time I got to my grey period I felt shunned away, but I never lost hope that one day when I reach my pink period, my messages within that song, and all my songs will be heard. It just takes some time being in the middle of a ride. Me, is what one of the patches on my jacket says. For me that's a reminder to live right now and be myself, regardless of what anyone thinks of me. I think of pride month when I see that. My heart is filled with joy when I see people in love or falling in love. Each and every one of us deserves some sort of love. I am blessed that part of my life feels fulfilled, but for many others it's not. This grey period is the time when you find love, or fall out of love, or get love taken away from you. But you must never give up on love. Love is what will heal us... or break us, but it's what gives us hope and that's what many of my LGBT brothers and sisters are celebrating all this month. We are celebrating LOVE. And no matter what may happen in the grey period, to have that shimmer of hope for a happy ending in the pink era is everything. Lastly my converse and it's little spikes is just a nod to the bumps in the road we face along the way in the blue, pink, and grey area. Not every story starts out happy, I mean look at this chapter, page 1. "How Is The World Treating You" was not a light and fluffy letter. Stories has up's and downs, endings, and new beginnings within the grey period. We always start and end, it's just how life goes, we go in a circle, but we always meet in the middle. As I close off this chapter, I want to remind you that no matter where my story goes, and how my life may counteract with yours, every little thing is gonna be alright. We are all just looking for that brand new start, that dream come true, like the one's you can get in "Malibu", or a version of "Malibu". "Malibu"can be a metaphor if you think about it. Spring is gone, and Summer is here. The story must go on, and only time will tell where we go from here. Thank you to Happy Socks for giving me the privilege to see beyond the definition of Happy. It has been a joy and honor to collaborate with a special brand and company like you. My dear Dom, you know how much I appreciate your wisdom and your introspection abilities to read through the stages of your life. Maybe because I'm a few years older than you (I realised that when you turned 22), I see things a bit differently. I think that every stage of our lives has its grey, blue and pink moments. As you say, everything is going to be alright. We must repeat that to ourselves through our grey stages, be them long periods or even a one-day crisis. Now heading off to your next post. But before that, let me tell you you're nailing this streetstyle look! I love especially your denim jacket with all its messages and patches on it. Big hugs, Valeria

Dom, reading this post makes me appreciate and love you as a person even more! You are amazing and I can't imagine anything you have gone through, but I am thankful you shared it with us. Embroidered denim is my favorite because it allows us to express ourselves like this and support our personalities. I love yours and the Happy Socks you're wearing!
