What I'm Wearing: Jacket: Levis, Shirt & Tie: Van Heusen, Pants: US Polo assn, Shoes: Apt 9, Hat: H&M
Hello everyone, Happy Thanksgiving! I Can't believe Thanksgiving is this Thursday. This month is always the fastest month of the year. I'm so excited to really get into all the holiday fun starting this week. The city is already beautifully decorated for Christmas. With all the bad things going on in America, it's nice to have a sense of hope seeing all the Christmas tress and lights. It is a good thing the holidays are coming because we need a lot of hope right now. It is getting colder here in San Fran. I needed a new jacket to keep me warm. I've always had this strange fascination with the beverly hills troop movie. I felt like this jacket paid homage to a troop ranger. I know that is a weird connection. But lets be real, this outfit looks like something a park ranger would wear. I'm cool with that though. I went all pilgrim last year and this year i'm all about that patterned denim jacket. With all the colors of this outfit it just feels like Thanksgiving. I feel warm and fuzzy, something that I really need to feel, considering another year is about to end and I have not accomplished what I would like. There is a different kind of magic celebrating the holidays in a city like SF. I feel like there is a little more sparkle. Something about the Golden Gate Bridge being the backdrop of the holidays is really special. I talked about hope earlier. That bridge mixed with the holidays is the perfect amount of hope. So many people come to San Fran to escape to a city where they feel like they belong. As we enter a dark phase with this incoming "president", we need safe havens like SF. I may not want to be here all the time, but I'm thankful that I can be in such an open and accepting city. I love that I get to celebrate my first Thanksgiving here in the city. I love that it is in this jacket that keeps me warm and protected from the cold. I've been so cold and alone for so long, it's as if a new layer has been added to my life. A layer I have been needing all this time. Today I had gig singing for my nursing home patients. It was great to be with them during Thanksgiving week. I'm reminded that some of these people don't have families and some won't see their family on this special day. I'm grateful that I have mine here in the Bay Area. I'm glad I could be with them for a little, so they don't feel like they are so alone. I know what it is like to be alone. Lately I haven't felt so alone though. I've made some new friends from all over the world and I have grown close to them. There is a pretty cool guy that I've started talking to lately. His name is P! He is from Paris and it is so interesting to see life from his point of view. We talked for hours today before I wrote this. For the first time in a long time I felt really good and it is all thanks to platforms like this. Platforms where I can share my story and be introduced to people like P. I'm so thankful for all your love and support you have given me. Thanks for following along and reading my fashion bible/diary. I hope we all have a safe and blessed Thanksgiving.
